Enlighten Evolution™ Whitening

Enlighten’s Evolution™ is a teeth whitening treatment that combines at-home and in-surgery treatment. This professional method for whitening teeth can whiten your teeth up to 16 shades lighter.

Unlike other teeth whitening procedures, you do not have to avoid your favourite drinks and food during the teeth whitening treatment.

How do I use Enlighten at home?

Your dentist will take a digital scan of your teeth and send them to the Enlighten’s Evolution™ laboratory. At the lab, the technicians use the digital scan to create customised bleaching trays which resemble mouthguards.

In the interim between having the digital scan made and getting the trays back from the laboratory, you will use the Enlighten tooth serum twice daily in lieu of your regular toothpaste. This will prepare your teeth for the bleaching solution.

Once the lab sends the trays back, you will fill the trays with Enlighten Evolution’s™ patented bleaching solution each night and wear them while you sleep for 2 weeks.

What happens after 2 weeks?

After 2 weeks, you will come back to the dentist at The Cosmetic Dental Gallery and receive an in-chair, 40-minute additional whiting treatment. Your dentist will use a special, extra-strength Enlighten formula that only dentists can administer.

What is the main ingredient in the Enlighten toothpaste and gels?

Tooth enamel contains a substance called hydroxyapatite or HAP. The Enlighten serums is comprised of 97% HAP.

Hydroxyapatite helps reduce tooth sensitivity and enhance the whitening effect. It also helps make the teeth more permeable, allowing oxygen to enter and remove the stain molecules.
The gel helps repair tiny holes in the surface of your enamel, giving the teeth a glossy lustre.

How long does the treatment last?

Depending on your lifestyle and diet, the treatment can last up to 3 years before you need to repeat. You will also use the trays for one night every other month to maintain your bright smile and substituting your daily toothpaste occasionally for the tooth serum can help keep stains away.
